Why not Wedding Singer 2?

Adam Sandler made a sequal to one of his worst films, Grown Ups, so why not a sequal to his best, The Wedding Singer? It could be set in the 90s or early 00s and be about Robbie trying to make it as a singer. If the 90s then he could try being in a boyband, or if the 00s it could be him trying out for American Idol or something... Or a sequal to Happy Gilmore would be great!

reply

Because the wedding singer doesn't need a sequel otherwise it will ruin the premise of the movie being and setting which is it's 80s setting. Making a sequel would be pointless.

I agree with you but at the same time I'd kind of like to see a sequel set in the 90s and see where Robbie and Julia are during that time. That would be kind of neat, but honestly we don't need it.

Dragonzord! Mastodon! Pterodactyl! Triceratops! Saber Toothed Tiger! Tyrannosaurus!

reply

Because Adam Sandler nowadays only makes stupid ass movies

It would be interesting to see a sequel, but it'd be kind of pointless. This movie is pretty untouchable, and most of the actors have moved on to other projects. I don't even think the two little boys act anymore. They pretty much quit the industry.

Only if it's about Steve Buscemi's character. Maybe he and George hook up...

I want a sequel, too! Personally, I don't think the main actors have aged very much since the movie was made. So, what I'd like to see is Robbie and Julia have a baby, Holly and Sammy get together and either move in together or get engaged, and for Glen and Linda to meet somewhere and get together, because he likes to make money and I'm quite sure she likes to spend it. I think this would make for a great sequel! Come on, Hollywood! Make it happen!

I'd like to see it take place either in the late 80s (I think they could make it work) or the 90s.

why ruin a good thing? they made a sequel of dumb and dumber and it was awful and so disappointing. good films don't need sequels unless it's an unfinished story for the most part. or if its something like The Matrix that almost needs more films cause it has a lot more to tell. This was a good film with a solid ending. robbie and julia end up together, he becomes a song writer because billy idol says hes going to tell labels about him. the end. leave it at that. we dont need some shi**y sequel with a forced plot and aged actors trying to recapture great characters a decade later. come on now.
