They do the whole sequence at the bridal shop and pick the dress George is wearing but then she is wearing a different dress at the wedding. I thought it was just she got a new dress because it's a new guy and all but it's the same dress she is wearing during the mirror scene. Both dresses are pretty so it's ok but I don't get why they would switch the dress.

The one George models has shoulder mesh, and a off-the-shoulder V-neck. It's possible that Julia's wedding scene and the Mirror scene are the same dress, but I doubt it. The material and neck appear different.
Maybe they were just applauding for George's sake. It was just a gag.
But, yeah, Julia is indeed wearing the same dress in both scenes, but not the George dress. Robbie was in on planning her whole wedding, so why wouldn't the dress that got chosen in that process be fine?

That was the OP's point. If seemed they all voted for George's dress, but eventually she has a different dress on.
