controversial film

Apparently our government had some issues releasing this film. Scary- can anyone tell me why?

don't know which government ur talking about (american, british etc) but it's probably because it displays how much we are lied to by the government in the form of propaganda, and how they tell you certain things to take your attention away from others (the president and the accusations of statutory rape against him are overshadowed by the "war") It displays that we are still told how to think by the government and the media, and any government would be nervous about people seeing a film that might make them realise that.

I didn't say that. I think our government came to the producers of the film, asking them to change some things, delete scenes, maybe even under court order. Some of the information in the film might have confidential government property. Don't underestimate the power of our government and the control they probably have over Hollywood too.

Unless you can produce any sort of evidence to back this claim up, I'll find it impossible to believe, and think it's pretty reckless on your part to claim it.

I can't imagine any producer being told to change something by the government without screaming censorship to anyone who will listen.

Court order? Then there will be a record. Care to share it?

I think the problem you're referring to is that it was released around the same time as Zippergate in the USA, and President Clinton was getting a bit confrontational with Iraq around the same time, and as such he wasn't exactly a big fan of the film.
