Catchiest music score ever?

Many people say Star Wars, Rocky, Superman, Halloween, Jaws, 2001 A Space Oddysey, and several others have the best scores ever. Those are all great, but I think Vampires has one hell of a musical score. Its so catchy!!!

Anyone agree?

I have El Sonoma del Torra de Fiero Syndrome. Be happy you don't. Trust me.

Here here. While not as catchy and memorable as, say, HALLOWEEN or ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, VAMPIRES has a cool f_cking score. Just look at the opening cue in the film - titles NEW MEXICO on the soundtrack. Gothic and elegant, with a nice dose of American western. Or Valek's religiously inspired melody. Also the Man With No Name-esque theme for Jack Crow.

Agreed. The acoustic guitar score just adds to the western feel.

Agreed! I love the score of this movie!

Prostitute: What the *beep* are you doing?
Johnny: I'm gonna kill a bunch of people.

John Carpenter always seems to get some really memorable scores for his movies; something that tends to be under appreciated. Did anyone else notice some elements from Big Trouble In Little China in the score for this movie? There was definitely one scene where I was reminded of that movie for sure; it's when Montoya knocks out Katrina in the hotel room.

The score where they are walking down the road and steal the car is what made me like the movie more. Carpenter has always put good soundtracks in his movies, whether it be the opening theme to Assault on Precinct 13, Christine, The Thing, Big Trouble, Escape, The Fog, he has a good ear for memorable music and themes.
