I'm sure I've seen this rated R in australia before but just saw it and it was only M. I hate it how ratings just change. Hannibal was R when it came out but now its only MA. why do they do this?
Well, they don't. It was never rated R, I saw it when it was in cinemas and I was only 13 or 14. It was always M15+, what exactly would be R18+ about this?
[EDIT] Oh and as for Hannibal, that was out for about a week as an MA15+ movie, until it was lobbied against because parents complained saying it was too graphic for their kids to see (even though they needed a guardian to get in, go figure), so it was re-tagged as R18+ while still in cinemas and changed back a while after that.
oh thats interesting. i actually saw a copy of hannibal on ebay that had an R rating on the cover. and it sold for like $45!! other hannibals only sold for bout $9 est. i guess its an antique now
Heh, they probably thought they were getting a longer movie for that amount of coin and that beefed up rating, but I'm sure it's the same exact movie just before the re-tag was removed.
