Maybe i missed somethin, but why did Sinise kill himself at the end of the movie...i know if found guilty of the crime he committed his life was over but how did the cops that pulled up at the end know that it was him who committed a crime? had there been contact to the outside?

Don't forget Gary Sinise's character was waving his gun with the silencer... i think that gave him away to the cops.

There is more to asked...not only how the cop knew Senise was the bad guy.
How did nic knew that those cops will be arriving on that spot?
