Nicolas Cage... A tad too 'rammy' during the opening boxing sequence?

Good Lord, I wanted to slap him he was so annoying.

Who acts like anyone acts like that? He was way off the charts with the 'crazy cop' thing. I found it distracting. I like him but I think he was bad in this.

He was way over the top. He is a good actor, so I lay most of that blame at the foot of the director. It’s his job to pull out the best performances. Maybe that’s what he wanted? Cage does calm down, only to lose it again during the stairs scene.
