Why does Steven put the key back on Emily's keychain at the end when he thinks she's gone out to get them something to eat? She had just told him she still can't find her key and thinks they should have the locks changed and then he puts the right key back on her keychain when he thinks she's not looking?! What would she say/think when all of a sudden the right key is back on her keychain? That was stupid on his part.
shareI think he knew the jig was up and it was a desperate attempt to say he "found" the key. He was very controlling until the end and it was hubris that got him.
It's funny. He's horrible Still we were all rooting for him huh? Douglas is so good at being bad. Gwyneth never really stole any scenes, not sure if that was the directers fault or hers tho.
And while he was in the hallway retrieving the key (it was only about 30 seconds), she had time to go to the safe, open it, play the cassette tape, etc.?
Now THAT was the most unbelievable part of all.
