Detroit is a hellhole

What an ignorant statement.
Sometimes the gritty parts of Detroit are used and shown in movies to set a certain tone and atmosphere.
And often times that grit is played-up quite a bit in production (lighting, score, etc..).

EVERY major city has its rough areas. Detroit has been booming with new developments, businesses, construction and a MAJOR restaurant scene...especially in the past 10 years. It's an awesome city.....which gets a bad (and misinformed) perception by those who have never been there.

Come to The D....hit a Tigers game, stop by Lafayette Coney...and top off the evening with a cocktail at the top of the Ren Cen. Or, walk over to Greektown for some saganaki. Be sure to take in the amazing architecture. Detroit is an awesome city.
