Not exactly. The script called for the scene in the bar and the love scene in the hotel room upstairs but when Soderbergh filmed it he mixed things up a little. The actors said they didn't quite understand what he was doing at the time.

Just watched it again last night, really liked the hotel scene. Great ambience...
You beat me by a night. Hadn't watched it in years until screening for friends on New Year's Eve. I still think it remains one of Clooney's best performances. The chemistry between the two in the bar scene/bedroom scene was a highpoint. But the whole thing just kills it from top to bottom and Steve Zahn comes close to stealing the whole film that boasts one of the best casts imaginable.
