How could any of his fellow officers believe he could kill Nate

That is what i find so incredulous. Here's a guy who's been on the force for years. A trusted and honest cop who lays his life on the line every day. And then suddenly, he's a cop killer and everybody believes he did it. That scene with Nate's wife had me boiling. I really wanted to slap some sense into her for her comment to him. I noticed he didn't say anything in response.

^I love the movie, but that bugs me to this day. After all of that drama, that would be my LAST day on the force. Anyone who's that QUICK to turn on you with no benefit of a doubt would be HARD to call a friend after that.

You get a message on your cell to go to a certain parking lot. There you find your girlfriend standing by an opened car door and in a car a guy with his pants zipped off.. Later you are shown explicit emails with her name on them, sent to that same guy.

Do you believe her when she tells you that your own friend set her up because they don’t like her?
No, because such things only happen in movies.

Well, SOMEBODY stole $2M from the pension fund--the cops' own pension fund. Evidence and opportunity pointed to Roman.

Only two of them had any pause at all about killing a colleague, so I could see them being able to believe two million dollars was sufficient incentive for someone to go rogue and knock off his partner.

Or maybe they were able to imagine themselves being in position to skim $2M and doing the same thing.

As for the widow, I agree with you. Her failure to give her husband's old friend the slightest benefit of the doubt was inexcusable. I would have enjoyed seeing her shame-face when the whole story came out.
