The movie itself? Worse in the series. It nearly killed the series too.
I doubt it nearly killed the series... it made a lot of money and it was well received even though it was garbage.
I disliked it from the very first viewing.
It doesn't make sense that the third movie was such an improvement and that one did almost kill the series.
I liked Woo so much at the time that I went in sorta pre-liking it. I was pleased that Cruise was finally ditching the wide-eyed madman look for a more polished presentation but was disappointed.
Years later I went back and rewatched the first 2. I now like 2 much more than 1 and I even despise the first one (outside of the cool heist) now.
Yep. I like MI2 and hate MI1.
