I would've killed the kid

Or let him be killed, all that screaming jeez.

But even without the screaming, is saving the kid worth killing all the other people in the movie?

Not to me anyways. Bugger the little bastard.

Let's see... Because the kid was born with a disability—a mental disability—you would have him killed. Where did you get that philosophy? from Adolph Hitler? He wasn't just killing Jews, but people who had physical and mental disabilities as well. Is that how to solve the world's problems? just kill the people who are different than you? What happens when you get older and you begin to have physical problems associated with old age? Should YOU be killed too? Think about what you are saying!

reply

sheesh, cry me a river

I don't think the OP meant it for real. That kid's acting was annoying in many parts (I liked Miko Hughes in Pet Semetary and New Nightmare). I've seen many movies where I want to throttle certain characters because of how annoying they are.

reply

eh, it was a pretty average movie, 5.5 maybe

. You said it. Like Lisa Simpson for example. Homer throttles the wrong kid.

Well, I wouldn't agree, but I have no problem thinking those that have weaseled their way into power (and very few honest people can) would do it.

That's pretty quick to pull the Hitler card.... You should have held that for the climax. All in all it's not a bad parallel though. So what you're saying is, that our current governement agencies think a lot like Hitler....

You're kidding me RIGHT?!

Simon was a 9 year old autistic boy who overheard his parents being murdered. Now even if he had been 'normal', he still would have been traumatized. Now think about the effect that would have on an autistic boy. Ofcourse his emotions would be out of whack and God forbid he screams!

The young actor did an excellent job!

I would've protected the kid but that's just like...my opinon, man

The movie itself was OK but the real issue that was first mentioned at the beginning of the thread was the amount of godawful screaming that went on.
They could have cut back on his screaming and the film would have been INSTANTLY less annoying. There are 100's of Horror/Thriller's that have character's that scream WAY to much and it just takes away from the enjoyment.

I personally wouldn't want to kill the kid because then the movie wouldn't exist. Gag 50% of the screaming and a better time had by me.

reply

Do you people not understand autism? Do you go into Rain Man and say the movie would have been better if he didn't scream as much? The kid was traumatized for crying out loud! Have you ever been around an autistic kid who was just having a bad day? I have. Any less screaming than was in the movie would have been completely unrealistic, and honestly in real life he probably wouldn't have been able to get him to stop simply by letting him play with the siren.

How about kill ignorant people like you? Does that sound better?

I hated this movie and I hate kids in general. But this one made me chuck *beep* at my TV. Kill the F'ing thing. Besides, don't the needs of the many outway the needs of the few? One punching bag's life over the countless of soldiers as was the situation in the film? Hey, that's not even a moral question anymore, but a logical decision. Many of you may hate my guts for these arguments, but the beautiful fact is that I just don't give two *beep*s about that. Deal with it.

reply

Yeah, kill a kid instead of coming up with a new way to protect the spies. Completely logical.

I'm leaving you, Jerry. I'm leaving you - and I'm taking the monkey with me.

reply

To the OP.

A Austrian chap with your way of thinking came up with the same idea in the 30's... His name was Adolf Hitler.

to hell with all spies, they are the lowest kind of humans and they are always potential traitors, specially when they become presidents.
