Huntingburg movies

First off I would like to note that Huntingburg, IN is a real town, I grew up close to there. It's located in Southern Indiana but, there are no major rivers with dams there like shown in the movie. The movie was actually filmed in Huntingburg and I remember this well. I was in high school and was all excited that Christian Slater was to be filming a movie(then titled "The Flood") close by. I remember most of it was filmed on 4th street, I think which is where all of the really cool little stores are located. They had the whole place sandbagged so that they could flood the street. A friend and I went to the set in hopes of meeting Mr. Slater but, we arrived a day too late. He had left for Cali. the day before. I kick myself to this very day, though because I was like 2 feet away from Ed Asner who was dressed in his "armored car security" uniform but, I didn't realise it was him so, I didn't get his autograph! lol
Another big movie which was filmed in Huntingburg was "A League of Their Own" which is a great film! I was in grade school during this filming and remember this well. There was such excitement and hype about the filming of this movie in Southern Indiana. I remember the big thing was suppossed "Madonna sightings" in the area. The movie was filmed in many different locations in So. Indiana. For example, the Rockford Peaches ballfiled is in Huntingburg, IN and is now called Huntingburg League Stadium; the Racine Belle's field is Bosse Field in Evansville, IN; The gym where they pick up Marla Hooch at is in New Harmony, In or so I've heard; and the place where the bus gets stopped at and the driver leaves due to Stilwell Angel is a stretch of Yankeetown Rd. just outside of Boonville, IN and I think the farm where Kit and Dottie live is in St. Philip, IN. Another cool fact is Justin Scheller, the boy who played Stilwell is from Southern Indiana and played HS football here. Actually, there was a write up a year or so ago in the Evansville Courier about "A League of Their Own" where they revisited everything.
I really hope they film another movie in Southern Indiana soon because I miss the excitement and hype of it all!

I went and saw the filming(I'm from St. Croix)... and currently I drive armored cars and pass through Huntingburg from time to time.

actually i'm from jasper the town 7 miles to the west of huntingburg and there is the major river the patoka river that passes through both towns. they were in fact major flood plains and until the 8000 acre plus patoka lake and reservoir was built so it is quite possible that the premise of this movie is 100% accurate you know hypothetically speaking if the dam would break
