I bought this movie because of Morgan Freeman. It was a "blind" purchase and as always, I always seem to pick out the really bad ones.
I've got quite a lot of movies with Morgan but this one is about the worst one he starred in. Maybe "Under suspicion" is worse but I seriously doubt that.
This action flick is so cliche and hasn't been able to grab my attention for even one second. It definitely goes into the resale!

this way better then under suspicion. Under Suspicion is kinda drab, and pretty routine, aside from a good Gene Hackman perf. there's not anything there that hadn't been done to death on tv--a la Law and Order or the spin offs. Where as Hard Rain is a one of a kind bad movie! that in itself is worth the watching of it!!!!
shareNo, this isn't Morgan Freeman's worst movie. There is an independent movie floating around there with Freeman's face on 3/4 of the DVD cover even though he's only in the movie 5 minutes, tops.
Anyway, I enjoyed his performance, as always, in Hard Rain. Even though he was supposed to be a baddie, he was the most sympathetic of all characters. I'm glad his character got away with a few $$$s.

Some would disagree with me, but I would have to say Morgan's appearance in "Robin Hood Prince of Thieves" was a worse outing.

i tend to believe that morgan freeman makes anything he appears in better...
i just recently saw him in "se7en" (again), which is so good it doesn't need his help, but is certainly that good because he's in it.
i can honestly say that i've never seen him in a "bad" film...
i've seen him in, what i'd call, "average" films - but not bad ones.
"hard rain" is not a great film, but it's entertaining - and has some great action sequences - and shouldn't be taken too seriously (as some of the comic dialogue in it leads you to think).
