What happened to the old people?

I mean, the last time we see them, they are both up in a tree. This otherwise good movie did a bad job of showing what happened to them. What do you all think?

I was more worried about their cat in the attic. LOL!

ummm I'm pretty sure, they got away on the raft, remember there was a scene where the husband told Rose from Golden Girls to Shut the f&#k up, and get on the raft so they could get the heck outta town, and she finally shuts up and looks up at him and says why you've never talked to me like that before? and he says something along the lines of that;s becuase I never cared enough before to speak up or something to that effect, either way the point is he somehow gets her to climb into the raft, and the implication is that they sail away to dry land or whatever. Either that or Randy Quaid kills em. Lord what a brillant (and by brilliant I mean completely arbitray and random) plot twist to suddenly have the former subservient sherrif suddenly get greedy and money hungry, why that's just like Bogart in Treasure of the Sierra Madre, only without any context, or warning whatsoever that he;s gonna let greed get the better of him. seriously its like he just snaps and suddenly becomes obsessed with the money. At least in Sierra Madre, you see throughout the movie that Bogart is thinking about the money, so when he snaps midway thru that movie it makes sense! Here Quaid doesn't even mention the money until he snaps, completely random! I love it!!!!

By the way what;s up with Morgan Freeman in this movie? Seriously what was he doing here? The whole idea of him being in this movie makes me laugh so much!

They planted the seed. We knew he had lost the election and was not happy with being booted out of office. It's hardly "completely random".

Personally, I think the last big wave got 'em. After all, the water was only about 3 feed away when they showed the couple stuck in the tree. After the damn was breached, that wave was about another 10 feet or so.

Oh well, that's what they get trying to ride it out instead of evacuating. Stubborn fools.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.

nah they survived. this movie came not long ago and at the end the were shown in a tree still alive.
