On the heels of Halloween 4, 5 and 6, aka 'The Thorn Trilogy,' things in the Halloween-verse were left in a horrible state of disarray. With Halloween 7 slated for a dreaded 'straight to video' release, it finally seemed like the wheels had fully fallen off one of the most famous franchises to ever grace the genre. That is until another spooky blockbuster, 'Scream,' shook Hollywood to its core and breathed new life into the fading lungs of The Shape. 'Halloween H20: 20 Years Later' would release in 1998 and totally revitalize not only Michael Myers, but the series as a whole. For the first time in over a decade, Jamie Lee Curtis returned to the genre that defined her career, for one more round.

...Or, two more rounds? Oh boy. In the wake of H20's success, Dimension Films and Moustapha Akkad smelled blood in the water. Like a ravenous shark, they whipped yet another sequel into production. 4 years later, 'Halloween Resurrection' would hit theaters, but could it continue the forward trajectory that H20 had set last time out? Well, let's get to it.
