A funny film but.....
doesn't represent the stoner culture in the slightest. I would've appreciated less of the silly fantasy angle.

shareIt is more of a parody of the stoner culture, and the pop culture that often surrounds it.
In short it's not a film to take serious or to use as a guide for understanding stoner's.
It is merely a dumb, funny little film.
Oh yeah, because stoners are really never like that at all.
shareBrian was just another stoner parody character you see in every movie, like even when they are not high they talk high. He annoyed the hell out of me in this movie.
shareI've literally never met a stoner like that, so I guess not?
shareSUCH a cop-out ending
shareMethinks a more "realistic" version wouldn't have been any less silly... he he. As a non-stoner, I enjoy every minute of it.
Hey there, Johnny Boy, I hope you fry!
I love this movie. But I didn't like the ending. Thurgood giving up the weed for her. Why could't he have both? I would have rated it much higher if they had come to an understanding. I know it's all parody but still the ending undermined everything else.
I'm Fiona Goode, I'm in charge everywhere.
Loved this movie as a teenager when it came out, but have grown to hate it, much like a lot of stupid sh!t I laughed at back then. Next Friday and Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back would also be good examples. Now older, I see Half Baked more for what it is. Just a pathetic attempt to be the ultimate self aware pothead movie, which isn't nearly as hip as it thinks it is, and ends up making potheads look like retards. Horrible script, horrible ending.
This is what happens when you *beep* a stranger in the ass! --John Goodman share
I'm 57 and I laugh my a$$ off every time I see it.
shareFeels like an episode of Chappelle's Show mixed with Billy Madison. That's why it's a cult classic.
