Motion painting
This movie is more a painting than a motion picture - a motion painting perhaps, and beautiful. However, the directing is non-original and I agree with the view that it would have been in favor of the film to skip the english speech and do it in mexican. It would add natural force to the characters, instead of the TV-style it has in english.
As so often happens when depicting the life of a person in 2 hours too many things get included, and the result is that nothing is really dealt with in depth.
I believe in the freely adapted movies where the director creates his own vision without too much respect for the material he based his story on. That is, if you want to make a real movie and not a TV-episode.
Tumult.
