First scene and last scene

I didn't inderstand the last scene with the painting in flames.. I understand the flames as she didn't want to be buried but did she die before the 17 days?

And I missed the first scene; all I seen was her lying in the cart. Can anyone explain?

the first scene was showing Frida going to her opening of her art expidition. she is having a flash back to her life when she was younger. And she did die before the 25th anaversity. i always cry at that part.
