The wave supposedly made it to the Ohio and Tennessee valley. And yet, him and his wife were climbing a hill just outside of Virginia Beach and that kept them safe.
There are no mountains that close to Virginia Beach that are big enough to stay away from that 1,000-1,500 foot wave.
To my memory we have no idea how far inland the Hotchners were when Leo caught up with them, I'm not saying they were hundreds of miles away but you're assuming the wave was still that high by the time it got to them. In fact it seemed to me that the wave broke to a fraction of that size when it hit land. It's the force that pushes the water so far inland.
Hey! You're not old enough to drink! Now go and die for your country!!!
They were six miles from the exit to the Virginia beaches. So, not very. If they were able to get beyond the Shenandoah Valley and up into the mountains they would have a chance. The water would divert itself into the valleys.
It was nice that the wave stopped right before reaching them. I was hoping he and Helen Hunt Jr would have been washed away.. They left Tasha Yar to die back on the interstate
If by Tasha Yar, you mean the girl's mother, she and the father decided to just let the wave take them. They were pushing for the girl to go with the boy when they first learned that they weren't going to get to go to the ark. The girl wanted to stay with them and the boy got pushed on the bus to the ark. He then eventually decides make a last ditch effort to get to her so when they found each other again, the parents decided they were going to insist she go with him and take the baby too.
The annoying thing was Sarah was all happy to have Leo show up, but once again said "NO NO NO I don't want to leave you!!" So which is it sweetie do you want Leo to hang there and die with you or are you going to put on your big girl britches and save your baby brother? I understand leaving your parents would be hell, but can't stay on the fence with only a few hours to spare until annihilation.
