Why a Whitley?
The airplane in Fowler's postcard and the model in his footlocker is an Armstrong Whitworth Whitley, possibly better-known in Britain than the US (but that wouldn't be difficult.) Why did Aardman choose that? Seems a Wellington ("Wimpy") would have been a more obvious choice. Of course, the Whitley looks rather amusing, like something a bunch of birds that can't fly might make...
