Chicken Run or A Bug's Life?

Both great films. I just wanted to note the similarites. In a bug's life, "warrior" bugs come to the rescue, but end up not being what they were made out to be in the beginning, and end up being circus bugs. Then they still get together and decide to make a fake bird. In Chicken Run, the American Chicken is touted as being a flyer, then turns out he's not realy and is from a circus. Then they make a fake bird at the end. Kinda weird huh? Can't believe I didnt notice this before. What do you guys think?

I'm going to go with Chicken Run. Don't get me wrong-I'm a HUGE pixar buff. But Bugs Life was always,to me,the weakest of the pixar films. Though I do notice both have similar plots don't they. Even so-Chicken Run to me is better.

reply

Yeah definitely. A Bug's Life seems more like a Dreamworks movie rather than Pixar, rly. Not that that's a bad thing, Dreamworks are usually quality, but unsophisticated and not as endearing.

Chicken Run is definitely superior.

reply

Yep, Chicken Run is vastly superior.

I love both films, but Chicken Run is funnier I think, I still quote some of the dialogue now, and has the better characters. However, I do consider A Bug's Life Pixar's most underrated, it's not their best but it is funny with great animation and the voice cast was top notch especially Kevin Spacey as Hopper, who is one of Pixar's better villains in my opinion.

For me, both films are pretty mediocre, but I believe I was more entertained by A Bug's Life.

Super great dialog in Chicken Run, so many references to other things. I liked it way better. It's more memorable than many children's films out there.

My vote goes to A Bug's Life! Love that film!

I bet you're wondering what a place like this is doing in a girl like me-The Mummy

Chicken Run. Love the atmosphere, the British humour, the send up of war films scenario, and then you throw Mel Gibson into the mix... Great fun.

Chicken Run is better.

"Chicken Run", but by a very narrow margin.

I mean, "Bug's Life" isn't a great film, but I love the circus bugs and their utter unfitness for the roles they've been pushed into. But "Chicken Run" is a terrific film on several fronts, as a very dark comedy where death is real, a parody of prison-camp films, as a caper film, etc. I should watch it again right now.
