The Next Vessel Emily?

So now the portal is deverted to the next vessel. Shouldn't that mean someone can still enter it from the 7 1/2 floor at the office building and control Emily altho Craig is in there? Until Emily reaches her 44th birthday of coarse. "I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes."

reply

Yes.

reply

Yes, it's a very depressing ending...

reply

Well ok then! "I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes."

reply

yeah, i don't get how maxine and lottie can live knowing that one day dr lester and friends will attempt to take over their daughter's body. it kind of made the ending a little less cheery than it was presented, at least for me

reply

But they don't know that the next vessel is Emily, do they?
I mean, the previous vessel was not Malkovich's father, it was Dr Lester.

In fact I'm wondering whether I misremember something or the writing is a bit sloppy.

- A point in every direction is the same as no point at all.

reply

When Lotte goes after Maxine with the gun, Dr. Lester yells something like "She's carrying Malkovich's seed, our next vessel!"

reply

Yes. That's precisely what Merton-Lester-Malkovich (and his entourage) are planning.

Although presumably they will keep a tighter lock on that portal from now on, than they did when Craig found it...

The war is not meant to be won... it is meant to be continuous.

reply

At the very end of the movie, Craig was actually in Emily, saying how he loves Maxine. So yes.

More alarmingly, Charlie Sheen already has a spot reserved.

Sorry, but if you don't use spoiler tags, I'm gonna call you an idiot.

reply

I believe that Craig will actually be able to take over once Emily approaches her 44th birthday. He can't do it earlier because she won't be ripe enough yet. So one day, the demented, tortured soul of Craig will take over Emily when she is like 42 or 43. It will be like with John, Craig will get in before the group does, thereby blocking them from entering.

"Who are you and how did you get in here?" "I'm a locksmith...and I'm a locksmith."

reply

Wrong. Because Craig entered the vessel too early, he became embedded in Emily's subconscious. He is now stuck there permanently until Emily expires. This will be very tricky for Craig as Dr. Lester and co. will likely takeover Emily upon upon her turning 44. Potentially, Craig could be embedded as a mere observer in the subconscious mind for eternity.

reply

Lester could be as wrong about that as he was wrong about Craig controlling JM. As was established: Craig, being a puppeteer, has abilities that others lack, so he might indeed gain control of Emily before anyone thinks he can.

Also: eternity doesn't exist. At worst, Craig might be trapped for as long as the human race survives, which probably won't be long.

reply

At least craig gets to see both women naked a lot over the years and other girls stuff.

reply

I might have misunderstood something, or forgotten, I haven't seen the movie in a few years, but isn't the insinuation that Craig is stuck and powerless inside the girl, blocking any new entrants?
