Helena Bonham Carter should have got the Oscar for best actress for her role in this wonderful film about love. I love the scene when she writes to Merton and says remember I love you more. It filled with emotion.

No way! Bonham-Carter is great and offers a terrific performance, but Christie and Dench are better. And above all them, shines Hunt.
Everything Hunt does in As good as it gets is simply the best performance ny a leading actress to win an Oscar in 90's. She's brilliant!
Has she won one yet? I can't quite remember. A Room With a View was one of her most famous movies, but she apparently doesn't think she acted well in it. I thought the character was an ingenue and she was too so it mostly worked on that level.
