A lesser actor might've screwed this one up

Bill MUrray was what kept this one completely afloat,IMHO.
Mind you,I didn't think the film was that bad to begin with, but the loose, droll and fun elements of this film are almost ENTIRELY on Mr.Murray's shoulders. If he's not there,I'm not sure this film could've made it even as an actioner or a drama, and I'm 99% certain it would've failed as a comedy.

OK,I admit it. I was too lazy to do a full review on this one. I'm all reviewed out right now:)

MELLON:The Great Gatsby...he was...great!

I do agree with you.

It takes a really good actor to play a bad actor and, I believe, that what made the film so funny.

Si, I saw this movie recently on one of the movie channels. Great movie and you're right without Murray the film would have been a sulfer egg stench of a stinker

I love this movie, but what you mentioned about an action or a drama intrigued me...I'd be interested to see a suspenseful take on a man being mistaken for a secret agent...Could be very well done...

In fact, I think it has been...If you want to see a great dramatic take on the same theme, check out "North By Northwest." Hitch's tounge is still planted firmly in his cheek, but it's a much more serious angle on this same theme.
