shareYes, the 4 legged robot was the main energy source. When it uploaded itself into the ships mainframe, it coursed it's way through the system to the engineering automation programs. There, it reprogrammed the computer to create the small, spider like robots and the hardwired rat looking things. The ratbots controlled the spiderbots which ransacked the ship for parts to construct the massive 4 legged robot. All of the bots (and borgs) were of the same program. Hence, only a single "entity" seized control of the ship and ultimately built itself.
