ok, was Jennifers character white? or was she playing a girl of latin descent, bcus when she says she learned fortune from her father it flashes to a guy who likes like a red indian/native amercian, but then *SPOILER* it turns out jake is her real father? but then when shes talkin to bobby she says 'jake called her his little half breed', why is this?
also what is with the random flahses of red indians at the end of this movie?

Regarding the half breed remark I think gwil is right.
Regarding the red indians, the movie is full of Indian images and messages; I believe it has to do with the legend that John Voigt´s character tells Bobby. A long time ago the white man did something horrible to the Indians that lived in that area and either because of their flawed characters or a curse they suffer all the horrible things that happen in that town. I think Stone wanted to criticise ht ebehaviour of the white man to the Indians. Notice the weapon with which Grace kills Jake.
