Ridley wrote the book Stray Dogs, on which this movie is based. I read the book first, and the movie copies it word for word. Ridley has written some excellent books like Everyone Smokes in Hell, and has gone on to co produce movies such as Three Kings, and Bobby.

He also wrote one called Love is a Racket which I couldnt put down. He also was a writer on Martin and has a show now on A&E I think.
