This film was quite prophetic in one sense....

It gave us foreshadowing that Joaquin was gonna play Johnny Cash. During his first and last appearances in the film, Johnny Cash is playing like crazy.

it was wasn't it? It was kinda creepy how the song came on at that moment and the way he was dressed... strange indeed

Yeah...

It's almost like the casting director for Walk the Line saw Joaquin in this movie and thought "Hey, that's a good idea"....

You say that jokingly, but I actually believe you may have something there. My theory: there's an algorithm that the film industry has been using for quite some time, probably involving looking up an actor's past roles and cross referencing them with film plots and themes. It makes their job a no-brainer.

Ring of Fire plays whenever Sheriff Potter is about to appear. He always appears shortly after Toby. But yeah, cool unintentional foreshadowing.
