If Rose gave Brock the Diamond

Correct me if I'm wrong here but the only people on this ship are Rose, her daughter, Brock and his crew who all have the goal of finding this diamond on their mind so if she gives it to them sure they all smile and celebrate at first just knowing that it's actually real and in their posession but then greed would begin to set in 1 by 1.

Each of them would start to think that at any moment one of the others might try to take this Diamond for themselves so trust would be out the window just like that and suddenly a war would be underway with Rose and her daugther caught right in the middle of it with nowhere to go.

Maybe some of (if not all) the men are packing guns and if not there's sharp objects that leads to a very tragic ending. Rose has a not so peaceful heart attack because of all of this madness and then in the end either the daughter is the only one left with Rose in her arms or the surviving shipmate kills her to get rid of the witness.

I'm wondering if you're serious or if you're trolling on your first post..

reply

I think you're the one trolling or just not using any sense. I mean think about it this thing is worth billions of dollars. Now think about the kind of people who go after things like this and the type of result that often times happens in movies when the objective item is found. Look at how much of a asshole that fat guy with the beard was you really think he or any of the others wouldn't love to have that thing to themselves and get all the fame and glory? Yeah..it would end badly.

reply

Okay, in your world everyone's an anarchist (movie world actually). So what's the "fat guy" going to do with it after he snuffs Brock and pitches his carcass into the sweet by-and-by? Is he going to bribe the Russian ship captain to be quiet? Will he kill the rest of the crew as well, or can he form some sort of coalition? Will he go to Gold And Silver Pawn to hock this blue diamond or will he present it as a love offering to his inflatable woman?

I hope I never have anything of value with you standing behind me...

reply

Well it's not every day that people come across something that could change their lives forever like say..a Diamond Worth Billions of Dollars. Greed can get the best of any of us in such a situation.

reply

It's not worth billions. Experts say today it'd be worth 20 million. No diamond is worth billions. So you can step spewing that nonsense now.

reply

20 Million is still a lot for 1 individual compared to whatever each of them would get splitted between each other. Excuse me for trying to have a little fun topic on the fictional Treasure hunters in this movie.

reply

You said billions

reply

So you are saying a crew on a mission to find said stone, being financed by others who know about the stone, will suddenly fight over said stone if it is found as expected but in an unexpected place?

I doubt it in the real world.

reply

Greed can get the best of us all. If you had the opportunity to have 20 million dollars to yourself I'm sure you'd go for it too.

reply

This mission was financed and would have had paperwork. One could swipe the stone without a high likelihood of being caught.

reply

Greed can get the best of us all.

No, greed can get the worst of us. The fact that you keep defending this odd position is quite telling.

reply

I see nothing odd about someone letting greed get the worst of them if they had the opportunity to be rich for the rest of their life.

Some of ya'll really do take these movies too seriously, I tried to bring up a different little fun topic and you just shit on it but hey you do what you do. I had my fun and i'm moving on.

reply

I had my fun and i'm moving on.

That's the first thing you said that made any sense at all...

Brock mentioned an insurance claim was filed for the lost diamond. He asked Rose if she knew who would have filed the claim - and correctly answered Cal Hockley. If the insurance company was still around they would probably have a claim on the diamond since it was not lost after all.
