Best scene without a doubt

This movie may seem "mediocre" and forgotten. one reason maybe is because of the muffled audio, it's pretty horrible on the DVD I have. I enjoyed it anyway.

But, the scene where Denis Leary's character lectures that balding jackass about beating that woman.... then beats him, is AWESOME.......

I've always liked this movie. If memory serves, wasn't it a toaster he beat him with, or something like that?

reply

Yep a shiny metal toaster...... memorable but the story he tells beforehand is what really got me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h69it_56K4U
jeez it was poetic.

At the risk of sounding blasphemous, it was almost like Leary was channeling the Rightous Wrath of The Lord God in that scence. First he offered Compassion and Mercy. When they were spit back in his face, he brought the Wrath

It reminds me of something that Dennis Miller said years ago: “If you ever feel the need to murder, or fuck, a child, here is what you have to do: You have got to kill your self. You have to lean into the strike zone, and take one in the head for the team.”

I can’t possibly be objective about this scence. I know too much about helpless, sexually-abused children.

I think you should be more bothered about letting people know you remember Denis Leary stand-up material, than blasphemy, but ok...

reply

One: I am much more concerned about my immortal soul than I am about what anyone thinks of me. Two: I said Dennis Miller, not Denis Leary. Three: That was a singularly insensitive and witless reply.
