Ira? Watching the movie for the first time I could of sworn it was Ira that was behind all of it. Think about it, the way he was acting, how he felt about having the mob boss there, what Walkens was saying during the poker speech about Ira kind of made me feel that Walkens knew it was Ira.
Anyone else?
Concentration is NOT staring at someones fun parts during a conversation.
Ummm, no. Ira was scared of Walken (not Walkens) during the entire movie. Also, he was completely uninformed of what they were doing, notice that he comes in after they have drugged Walken, taped him to a chair, and chopped off his finger. Also, the end of the movie lets us know that it was Max and Lisa. He's on the dock, pretending to tie his shoe, and she's there. They planned the fake kidnapping together. That's why Walken has Leary shoot them.
Ira was a good decoy, the "I don't know what's going on but by the end it may turn out to be me" plan, but too obvious. Same thing with Jay Mohr's character, suspicious enough yet too predictable. I guess it's not so much the who did it, but confirming it Walken may have actually been behind it and if he's in it too. That's what really had me. It's a little obvious that there's "an inside" player, as they call it, and therefore confusing everyone with possible motives. But it also gets you to think if maybe Walken himself has something to do with it, maybe he's the one behind it and jerking the guys around when "the player" believes to have the upper hand. Awesome ending, didn't think he'd actually 'avenge'.
"If you don't mind, the corpse still has the floor!"
I never thought it was Walken's character. Mr. Bartolucci is kidnapped, drugged, and has his finger chopped off while duct taped to a chair. The man's a former mob boss. If he wanted two million dollars, he could have found a better way to get it.
First time a saw the film, I thought Charlie was going to shoot only max on the boat cause he was having an affair with Elise... would have make sense with the calls he make that we don't know who he'S talking to...
