One of the worst goofs ive seen

The boat scene at the end... Sean Patrick Flanery gets out of the water with tan swimming trunks and once he is in the boat he is now wearing black trunks. He then goes down into the bedroom or kitchen on the boat and he is suddenly wearing tan trunks, once he comes back out he wears the black trunks again. Perhaps just trunks that change color based on the amount of sunlight... i dunno.

Anybody know of any other movie scenes with goofs this noticable, or even worse?

reply

Not so much a goof, but I wonder how Charlie and Lono could get out to the boat, secure their own boat, and climb aboard without either of them noticing? I know he was swimming and she could have been asleep or whatever, but you would think they'd both have their guard up. Then again, I guess there wasn't much they could do, even if they did see Charlie and Lono coming.

"Good gravy!"
"Thank you. It's just brown and water."

It is called a continuity error not a goof.

Either win and go onto greatness or lose and face a series of cataclismic events.

reply

Yes, it is a continuity error.
A goof is a pathetic person who makes inane comments about simple concepts to attempt to appear educated. How cataclYsmic.

badtothebono -- nice name you douche.

I seem to remember the deleted scenes says they reshot the ending way after the initial filming because everyone hated the ending and *SPOILER* wanted the guy and girl to die. So it was likely shots months apart being sewn together.

Great movie, though. Great script and characters.

A continuity error is a goof, though a goof is not always a continuity error. So it is both a goof, but more specifically a continuity error.

reply

A goof is a filmmaking error. A continuity error is a type of error that can be made during filmmaking, hence a filmmaking error, hence a goof. Continuity errors are suitably filed under the category of "goofs" on IMDb. To say that a continuity error is not a goof is akin to saying that a dog is not an animal but instead a mammal. One shouldn't go around correcting others when one doesn't even have a grasp on semantics.

I was looking at the goofs section on this page, and I did not see a goof that I think is very noticeable.

When Max is telling the Atlantic City story, we are moved to a flashback where we see the casino and Brett and T.K. at a table.
Notice that first instance when we see them. Brett is laughing and playing the table, while T.K is with a girl, in his arms. Right at that moment, T.K looks up at the camera, since it os being shot from an overhead view, and resumes flirting with the girl. It was obvious that was a cue shot, where and actor resumes acting when hearing "action" OR he notices the camera moving, if he is going to be in camera shot, he makes sure he's acting before he's off screen.
I noticed this when I watched the movie on cable, then I rented it on VHS and also saw it. I'm not sure if you can see it on DVD because of the widescreen format, but you can see his face and you can notice his eyes looking straight at you if you pause it. Be quick about it because he looks up in a nano second. If anybody has the DVD please check it out and let me know. Thanks.

Nope dude, watched closely for the same both during the entry of the widow-maker and also when Avery walks in (the right and only moment the Camera takes an overhead view)couldn't notice the same saying that T.K was regular in his flirting with casino girl. Maybe has to say for the fact that edition has been exhausted or modified.

I did only watch the movie tonight, years after you went cold on IMDB.

Life can be a comedy or a tragedy, it all depends on how you look at it.

Didn't notice the trunks. But as for how they got on the boat, there is a long distance shot at the end where you see their little raft pulled up next to the boat. It's a stretch, yeah, but at least they accounted for it. You know how the mob is in movies - they always close all accounts. Again, at least there is the long shot of their boat, otherwise it would be really lazy filmaking. We'd have to assume magic, teleportation, or some other such absurd mafia skill based assumptions.
