Wouldn't have been sure, unless they could crack the planet. Bugs live underground, and they didn't know how deep they'd have to go.

Besides, they say that if the Earth has a nuclear war, the cockroaches will survive... so the Bugs might as well.

They didn't want to Nuke it...they wanted to go there, and the reason for doing so was orchestrated by the Federation. The bugs didn't send the meteor.

Only people with money say that money doesn't matter.
