In the future when we are fighting a war of extinction against an alien arachnid species perhaps we should equip our Mobile Infantry with weapons that don't require 127 rounds to kill each enemy.
Especially when the enemy are arachnids! They BREED like arachnids. There are millions of them.
Try using ordnance that actually kills them without having to eviscerate them first.

There's a limit to the muzzle energy and ROF the average trooper's weapon can deal out before he/she can't control it effectively; the MI can't exactly hand out miniguns to everyone.
