In the future when we assault another planet...perhaps it is not a great idea to park our fleet in an orbit that leaves about eleven feet between each ship.

After all...it is SPACE. There is plenty of room up there.

This will make it a lot harder for the procto-bugs to hit a ship with every turd-comet that they excrete into orbit.

They expected surface based fire to be random and light. Just another instance of their underestimating the Bugs and taking their own superiority for granted.
