I guess in the future any moron can get into Harvard

HowTF is Johnny supposed to go to Harvard scoring in the low 30s on his math exam? The movie seems to go out of its way to show us that Johnny is not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. Yet his father some how thinks he is going to Harvard? Does Harvard like become a tech school like Devry or something?

1/3 of Harvard students are the children of alumni, also their football team needs athletes.

His father was likely one of the Harvard alumni, so not too hard for him to get in, and he can play football that I think sealed it.

Preferred demographic? Incredible entrance essay? Deluded parent? Clueless parent who buys his kid's talk? English Lit major where math score does not matter? Legacy? Does it matter? For a while now the world has going out of its way to find a kid who barely got through Podunk U for a career versus some kid who attended an Ivy but finished just outside the top quartile at graduation.

Rico only got into Uni because of his athletics plus his fathers influence. (The scene in Rico home with his mother and father it's sort of hinted at)

You can already do that in the present.

A lot of morons go to Harvard now.

Just like today. You just have to have the money and the connections.
