Invading Klendathu because of Bug meteor, False Flag Operation

It's because they wanted the brain bug for its knowledge. It was a false flag operation. Think the middle east is about "bringing democracy" or "stabilizing" it? Or to stop terrorism for that matter? Nope.

Notice how we never actually see any scenes with a meteor hitting the earth we just see them talk about it in a propaganda film. think about it, how ridiculous does it sound that the bugs would shoot plasma at the asteroid belt in such a way that it would send a meteor on a direct path to Earth? Now compare that with some of the farfetched facts about 9/11? (Jet fuel melting steel beams, Building 7, all the unanswered questions etc.) and you'll see that the film is a bit ahead of its time, or at least 4 years ahead of its time.

So when Rico was on the vidphone with his parents, it was just getting cloudy?

reply

I forgot about that part but That still doesn't prove the bugs did it.

It's called Hegelian Dialectics. For a king to keep his subjects in control, he needs a perpetual enemy threatening the kingdom, to keep his subjects in fear for their lives, and turning to him for protection. Without perpetual war, there would be no need for the king.

Also, within a group, over time, a struggle for power ensues. For a king to keep hold of power, he has to eliminate contenders within the group. You can't turn against your own subjects, because it creates a civil war. Father turns against son, son turns against father. Collapse.

So, you need to channel this social tension, towards the exterior of the group. A war against a perpetual external enemy. The purpose is not to defeat the enemy, but to exterminate the excess males within your group, males who want to be kings. Civilians who want to become Citizens, to have power. So you design the system where the Civilian has to join the army, to become Citizen. But then the Arachnids strike, and the soldier dies or is maimed in war, loses his loved ones, his body and soul are crushed.
The contender is being systematically disabled, posing no more threat to the king.

It wasn't a false flag.

Mormon extremists violated the Arachnid quarantine zone, the Bugs responded with a retaliatory attack.

The whole point here is that the society of the Federation believes that use of force is the only solution, as was taught in the classroom scene. The idea Dizzy mentions of 'violence never solves anything' is dismissed by her teacher.

This is why the Federation mobilizes for war, and the intelligence mistakes were actual mistakes. A Sky Marshal resigns for the failed invasion, the Federation adpot new tactics, it seems they are prepared to do whatever is necessary to win a war, and not whatever could be done to restore peace.

That is the point here.
