I have seen the original more than once. And I love it. I have only seen bits and pieces of the sequels. Seems like the the original was not only well made, had good special effects, good action and good looking actors --- but it was funny. It was a satire. The sequels were just action dramas. They were not funny. Do you agree that is the main difference?

Also the first film is the only one to star Denise Richards. I do like her. I agree she's not as good an actress as Monica Potter but she's pretty and does what she can.
Thank you for agreeing. I agree about Denise Richards. Also, Dina Meyer. I think both of them were only in the first Starship Troopers. I like watching both of them.
I gave the original 9/10p, while the sequels only got like 5/10p.
Add to the things you mentioned that the soundtrack was much better in the original.

The only sequel I have been able to sit through is Hero of the Federation. It had an interesting premise that was poorly written and executed though. Had they took the time to properly write the story and given it some attention it might have been something.
