I think this novel should be made into a mini-series that was very faithful to the source material, nearly word-for-word (although they'd have to update certain details for the current time period). I think it could be amazing if done well. The movie didn't do the novel justice at all, in my opinion.

shareYeah, I did just the opposite: watched the movie then read the novel. I didn't enjoy the movie that much, but I liked the premise. Then I read the novel and was blown away by it! I watched the film again and was SO much worse after reading the novel. If you get a chance and enjoy audiobooks, they recently came out with an unabridged audiobook for Sphere. The narrator is great and it is awesome for long car rides. Highly recommend!!

Film is different medium, what works in novel doesn't necessarily work on the screen. So a word-for-word adaptation wouldn't really work I think.
The novel isn't that long or overly complicated so with the right director and screenwriter it could easily be adapted as 2hrs film.
