Pressurisation Plot Hole?

The crew have had to adapt to the higher pressure environment of the habitat and are told that they will have to spend several days decompressing before they can return to the surface.

If thats the case, how are they able to enter the alien ship which is presumably set at standard surface pressure?

It would be an incredible coincidence if the habitat and the ship happen to both be pressurised to the same level.

Hmmm. Seems like a good point to me.

Would them being in suits have anything to do with it? Not sure on how pressure works.
Also, maybe the ship automatically adjusted the pressure when it landed/crashed.

Those were not pressurized suits. Real deep diving suits are like modern full plate armor or like very special human shaped mini submarine.

the ship spent 200 years at the bottom of the ocean.
also, it was a future ship, compression/decompression may have been automated based on its surroundings. (some) of the crew were still alive after it landed, they could have activated some pressure thingy.
otherwise, 200 years of pressure would have blown them all away when they opened the door to enter it.

Actually, there's no decompression req'd when exiting an armoured atmospheric diving suit (ADS)/ submarine/ bathysphere after descent/ ascent back up to sea level (~15psi) because the interior pressure is maintained to be ~15psi at all times anyway.

The world record depth for scuba diving is supposedly 1000 ft: 12 minutes to sink, but 15 hrs of pausing at various depths to safely decompress on the way up.

So yes, every time that one of these characters entered the submarine/ habitat module/ space ship while scuba-diving, a decompression time of 15 hrs would be req'd.

Yet given that WWII submarines had crush depths (maximum depth before imploding due to excessive water pressure) of 400-500 ft, I don't understand how a scuba diver could descend that far - much less to 1000 ft w/o being likewise killed esp. w/o wearing an ADS....

You're gonna need a bigger boat.
