Pressurize

How come Barnes don't need to pressurize as he was in the submarine with the crew?? This makes no sense. Besides I've been diving in a submarine and we didn't need to pressurize after the dive.

For all the big names in this movie no character seems different from another. They're all cliche cardboard characters. The whole feel of the movie with the jolly music and the fact that it's PG13 annoys me. Having recently watched Event Horizon which was awesome this movie annoys me just 20 minutes in.

How is your reply related to the OP's question? Anyway, I've always loved this movie, don't care about Event Horizon much.

He's obviously deluded - Event Horizon was absolute cack!

Because he is the OP?! Blame him for not editing his first message instead of replying, but you should read first before replying in such haste, LOL.

Could it be because they dived 1000 feet? Did you also dive to the same depth?

The only time that you need to decompress is when entering the sub/ habitat module/ spaceship while scuba diving. At 1000 ft, it actually takes about 15 hrs.

Decompression isn't needed on-board the surface ship since you've already been at sea-level air pressure (~15psi) during the entire ascent in the sub (after said 15-hr process upon entering).

You're gonna need a bigger boat.
