Reel Crime / Real Story Feature

The new TV series featured this story and interviewed the people who were there when Selena died.
These people, who were not doctors or nurses or famous, tried so hard to save her life.
They deserve to be called heroes for their efforts. God bless these people, who were never recognized by this movie... or even mentioned.

This is indeed a good movie and Selena was a beautiful and talented woman and she will be missed by all.

This good-looking... and I can fly! Rod Redline

I have to admit I only became a fan after her death was featured in People magazine. She was my age and I was very curious about her because her death was tragic. I live in British Columbia, and I really at at that age didn't know her music and it really upset knowing at the time that I though her death was preventable because I thought if the staff knew what to do for first aid they would have tried to cover the wound really tightly with some type of material, but a major artery leaks very quickly, and I saw how far she had to go to the lobby so now I understand why they couldn't prevent it. She lost most of it on the way to the lobby.

I heard something about her fathers religious beliefs had him refusing some sort of transfusion.. Anybody know if there's any truth to this?

Selena was raised a jahova's witness and they do mot believe in blood transfutions. It is stated in the hospital records that Abraham told the doctor Selena wouldnt have wanted transfutions, however this was long after the hospital staff had already given Selena transfutions. The doctor who was working on Selena also testified that even if he had heard Abraham's request the only one that could refuse the transfutions was Selena herself and she was not concious to do so.

The transfutions didnt matter anyway though the bullet severed a major artery and Selena bled to death within mins, she was clinically dead when she arrived tothe hospital.

Selena actually was given transfusions, but the collapsed veins made it almost impossible.
