Funny, Weird, Quirky Things

Watching this movie so many times, I've noticed some things that seemed small but unusual and kind of fun to look for. For example:

When Selena is shopping in the mall with her salon manager, they make fun of a long gold lame dress hanging on the wall of the shop and say it looks like a suit of armor. Later in the movie, this same dress is modeled during Selena's fashion show.

In the beginning of the movie when Selena is rummaging through her suitcase to decide what to wear in the concert, you can see the yellow dress and the blue dress, (sleeveless, shift style dresses) that are also later modeled with umbrellas in the fashion show.

While shopping at the mall, Selena puts on a funny had that still has the price tag hanging on it, and she says something like, "But it's just like Minnie Pearl!" A lot of english speaking americans in the 90s would know who Minnie Pearl was (Hee Haw, Grand Old Opry), and that she was known to always have the price tag hanging on her hats. But when the movie is dubbed in spanish, Selena only says something like, "But it's what's in style!" instead of referencing Minnie Pearl. I assume most people speaking only spanish wouldn't have any idea about Minnie Pearl's hats, so they had to come up with some other dialogue for that part.

That's a good theory.
