Was there archive footage of the real Selena shown in the film?

I'm not well versed in Latin American music and to be honest I never knew who Selena was until she died. When I saw what Selena actually looked like, to me it seemed like Jennifer Lopez looked very much like her; so much so that I was really wondering if in some of the musical scenes they used alternating footage showing the real Selena as well as Lopez.

Is that just me, or did they show video of Selena in parts of the movie (aside from the end)?

I think it was only in the end of the movie.

All footage if Selena was shown during the credits. Anything you saw during the film was Jennifer Lopez

Like most biographical films, they don't show pictures or films of the real ones until the end.

I swear I saw some real footage during the movie. Especially during the mall scene & I think during the song Bidi Bidi Bum Bum song. Oh AND the fashion show part. Or was that really Jennifer? That'll suck if it really was Jennifer.

At the very end of the movie there was footage of the real Selena from her concerts and such, everything else I do believe was Jennifer Lopez.

Yeah. I just noticed that. I haven't seen the movie in forevvveeeerrrr. Lol
I thought there was though. My apologies. But Selena was freaking beautiful. Gosh.

You weren't wrong though, the footage in the montage featured the fashion show and concerts with the outfits Jennifer wore during the Bidi Bidi Bom Bom scene. And yes, she was gorgeous and extremely talented.
