Why did they cast Constance Marie as the mom?
She was hardly old enough to be her mom. They're less than 10 years apart. She looked very young
shareI'm just guessing, but it was probably because in the beginning of the movie, Selena's mom is still young with little kids in the 1970s. It was probably easier for them to age Constance Marie with make up and hair styles for the scenes where she's older, than if they had gotten an actress in her 50s and tried to make her look like a young mom in the early scenes of the movie.
