Since she died in 1995 here a list of things of things she probably never did or saw:
She probably never sent an email She may have had a cell phone but she never texted anyone She never created her own website She did not see the Latin explosion of the late '90's early 2000's( she may started that a lot sooner) She never saw the movie 'Titanic' She never saw the tragedy of 9/11 ( actually a good thing) She never saw the rise of the internet She never had a Myspace, Facebook or Twitter account She never used Youtube She never saw the Prequels of Star Wars
I might be forgetting a few things so if anyone cares to add a few feel free
Boston and Philly love to slander us, but they don't have as many fans as us
This one makes me so sad. It's always crazy to think of the people who died so young like in their 20s like Selena, Aaliyah, Otis Redding who accomplish a lot but nearly as much as they could have had they lived.
Also it speaks to their caliber of talent that they could do things the pop stars of today struggle with and seem to not care about approving upon. That's why I roll my eyes when people refer to certain "artists" giving the "young" excuse for everything they can't do, won't do and ESPECIALLY their maturity levels.

She also didn't get to build her dream house with Chris, which they had already bought the property for.
She missed out on the excitement around the turn of the century Millennium and then the Y2K madness, where people thought the computers were going to cause the world to end. Dolly the sheep, first cloned animal was born a year after Selena passed.
Other things she missed... Goth culture went more mainstream for a while, body piercing and tattoo popularity (her brother AB has lots of tats now), the first MP3 players, the OJ Simpson verdict, reality TV shows (I think MTV was actually still playing music videos back then), tamagatchis and giga pets, furbies, beanie babies. Female singers like Britney Spears, Christina Agulera, and Destiny's Child, boy bands like NSYNC and Backstreet Boys, and the song/dance craze the Macarena, all came along after Selena.
She missed out on the "wardrobe malfunctions" and questionable stage costuming that some performers think are necessary to stay cutting edge or relevant.
IMO, she wouldn't have participated in that, since she had so many young fans that idolized her. Even though she was young, she seemed to recognize that and her only real risque costumes were her trademark bustiers. On top of that, she had excellent fashion sense, knew what she liked, and was a trend setter who's style is still copied today.
Such a shame Selena didn't get to have kids and build her dreamhouse. Speaking of which, I heard that Chris had kids in his 2nd marriage, kept in touch with Selena's family, even while he was remarried, and the Quintanilla's have actually met his kids. Sorry, but I just think that would have to be awkward!
I kinda wondered if that was awkward too. If I were in that situation, I couldn't avoid thinking about how Selena never got to be a mom and that would probably be hard to deal with. But still things went ahead for Chris and he did get to be a dad. Probably a bittersweet thing for Selena's family.
Same here; I also wouldn't be able to avoid thinking about how Selena didn't get that chance. Plus, if I were one of the Quintanilla's, I'd be envious about that situation with Chris having kids and meeting them, thinking "they should've been my grandchildren (or neices or nephews)." Just the way I see it.
Not that this is something so great, but she never got to meet Selena Gomez who was also born in Texas and named after Selena. That's the only thing I like about SG, her name.
Knock if off Napolean make yourself a dang quesadil-la!

She didn't miss anything there. I cannot stand Selena Gomez. She is a classless tart who dates that tool Justin Beiber. Only thing she has in common with THE Selena is the name.
The ratio of people to cake is too big.

What was he supposed to do? Hide under a rock in his grief?
I'm not saying Chris should spend the rest of his life being depressed and miserable. But what I cannot understand is, if he'll never love anyone else as much as Selena, then what's the point of remarrying in the first place? I know several people who have lost spouses and moved on with their lives without ever remarrying.

I had thought the same thing. She had missed a great deal of what's been out..
she will never know these things:
smartphones taking a selfie social media reality shows beyonce and other current artists MJ and Whitney's death digital music witnessing the first black president.
I remember watching inside edition where this woman had been in prison since 1997. By the time she got out, she was intrigued with how much technology has change since then. She didn't know what a selfie was.
