Slain pop star Selena Quintanilla-Pérez will be resurrected as a hologram for an ambitious 2018 tour dubbed Selena The One.

A company called Acrovirt will create a 'walking, talking, singing, and dancing digital embodiment' of the Grammy winner, who was gunned down at 23.

'By no means is this something that's creepy or weird,' the late queen of Tejano music's sister Suzette Quintanilla told Billboard on Wednesday.

'It's not about replacing Selena in any shape, way or form; it's just something to help her legacy continue growing.

'It's so interesting and mind-blowing that we just felt as a family that this is definitely something we'd want them to do with Selena.'

Fans can contribute to the $500K Indiegogo campaign launching on April 16, which would have been the Dreaming of You hitmaker's 44th birthday.
