are you just supposed to assume?

I saw this movie for the first time yesterday on television and I was just wondering if they actually show Julia Stiles (daughter) and Billy Moses (father) getting together or are we just supposed to assume they already had? I didnt know if maybe they would cut it out since its tv. And has she always been in love w/ him and that is why she killed her mother?

And then at the end, did she kill herself? Or did the neighbor she was going to run away w/ kill her?? It really confused me.

Her little sister (Inger) killed her...I'm not positive as to why, but I think it was because Inger found out that Julia Stiles had killed their mom and also gotten rid of the nanny/maid, so she hated it for it.

From what I remember they don't show them getting together, and throughtout the movie you aren't even supposed to know what happened after she said "kiss me" to him that night when they were on the couch together and you finally find out when she says the thing about the mole on his butt.

It is implied that they slept together (though probably just once, when he was drunk and grieving). Later, Ellie blackmails her father into breaking up with Lena only after about 12 hours of being married by threatening to tell Lena about the mole he has on his left ass cheek and the father gets really upset and acquiesces, so i think that is meant to be taken as a sign of them having had sex (or at least being naked/intimate with each other).

"Just" once, huh? Well, that's okay then, I guess. :-[

LOL i didn't mean that to sound like i think incest is OK in small doses. It was only to explain that from the way i saw it, it wasn't a regular thing in the Christianson household.
